Hi, my name is Jo (she/her). I am a working class, cis gendered, Queer woman. Getting to know these, and many more parts of myself, has been and continues to be a long and deeply personal journey of unlearning, healing and becoming. For example, as part of this, I have also reclaimed fat and dyke as part of my identity. We do not need to identify in the same way for us to work together. Whatever the shape of your story you deserve to have a space where you don’t have to perform, explain or justify and can explore your version of self.
I am based in North London and I work online so that I am accessible to people in different locations.
Why you might come to counselling
You might be reading this because something is not working or troubling you or you want to explore aspects of your life. This might be a specific thing you want to look at like relationship challenges, questions about identity, impact of abuse, bereavement or maybe you are finding it hard to work out what is going on for you. You don’t need a huge reason to come to therapy, as humans we are layered and complex and it can be helpful to have a space where you can bring all of yourself.
How I can help
If we choose to work together I will provide a space where you can talk about your experiences if and when you are ready to. I understand the courage it can take to even say the words out loud. I will never push you to share anything before you are ready, instead we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
The way we feel is also impacted by the world we live in, the trauma we see in society and our own experience of discrimination and oppression so I will always provide space to explore this with you.
Whatever you bring I will meet you with warmth, curiosity and care. Therapy can be serious and deep but it can also be human and real with moments of laughter and lightness.
